Still, it’s odd that they did something like this for some obscure Internet ad.

God, it is all of the settings and architecture and lovely backgrounds and details like this that are what drew me into the show in the first place, so long ago.

Someone on EQD figured it out, it is from S1E2, its the second building of the ruined castle  
 
It’s inconsistent in the ep as the throne disappears from various shots at other angles.

I did check against those shots, very much different however.
 
Also I did check on that evil Celestia thing from the CGG (Nightmare Sun or whatever they called her) and though there’s a few concepts alike, visually nowhere close.

Reminds me of NMM’s throne, seating area when Twilight enters the Nightmare alternate universe, just all torn up.

Probably just an old unused asset. The background in the Fan Series figure boxes (I.e. Celestia, Nightmare Moon and Discord) all use an image of the old castle interior.
 
The figure’s poses are supposed to be taken from specific episodes, and the boxes list it, “Episode 2 - Season 1” for Celestia/Nightmare Moon. Which took place in the old castle. Nightmare Moon’s pose is when she reared up to stomp on the ground and break the Elements of Harmony, while Celestia’s is a mystery because she’s in a fighting pose but didn’t fight in the episode. So unless they’re intending on doing a follow-up which showed her fighting, it’s likely just reusing an old asset because it made sense.
