And, as it was mentioned about that no one “should reply to background ponies, nor take them seriously.” But, what about the “Celestia raising Spike?” Lauren mentioned that none of her ideas were meant to be taken seriously, either. Well, we know what Spike-fans, or rather “Spike-wannabes” are like.
Frankly, it wouldn’t have been a “crying shame,” at all, just because Celestia hasn’t been like a “mother” to Spike. It’s nothing anyone should be so upset. Although, this “Celestia being Spike’s mother” usually seems to come from Spike Abuse.
There were several errors in a few episodes like “Equestria Games,” where Spike got all credit for no reason despite all the hard work the other characters had done and the roles they’ve played. Like Twilight, she did most of it. Twilight figured out where the heart was, found the hidden passage to it, made her way up to the top in lights speed with her up-side-down magic, and Twilight passing the burden over to Spike was her idea, and Spike only ran a small distance over to a ledge and then fell. Shining Armor saves him AND the heart, then Cadance flew over there, caught them, and brought the heart to where it needed to go. Spike is NOTHING compared to that and doesn’t deserve to be the “Hero of the Crystal Empire.”
In “Gauntlet of Fire,” the question is where Garble’s hatred against ponies came from or why anyone would invade an entire land to steal beds. Dragons aren’t able to use magic, so they are, without a doubt, weak and harmless.
Here’s the proof showing that the writers weren’t behind any of those errors, but the fans themselves. So, it makes it clear that some of the Spike-fans couldn’t stand his abuse, mistreatments, and appearances as one, simple background decoration in the previous seasons.
Yeah… imagine someone say: “Ey Lauren, can u plz kill Spike’s parents? I think it’d be so cute if he got adopted by Celestia instead.”
I don’t get why you’re assuming I “were.”
What I know is that there is no point of having Spike in the show at all if his origin was that he just were given to Twilight to be used as a test-object for her to get access to Celestia’s school. No evidence about where Spike came from were ever revealed. Lauren wouldn’t say that Spike’s parents “just died,” or his parents “just abandoned him,” or that he was “just left on someone’s doorstep…”
No, you were. You made that clear.
I assure you that it was not an attempt to bring an argument. Just some things to simply read and be aware of.
I normally don’t.
You shouldn’t even acknowledge anyone trying to pick an argument with a 3 year old comment.
I have no problem with anyone liking any kind of story implications. Just think about how much it is worth, especially if it’s just about Spike, nothing else or no one else.
This is why you should not reply to background ponies, nor take them seriously.
Uh, not in the show.
Lauren hasn’t said anything about that “Celestia is Spike’s mom,” when she only suggested one of her ideas, that was never meant to be considered canon, of her just raising him.
It doesn’t make anyone a mother/father or had “motherly/fatherly” moments when she/he are just taking care of someone, especially since it isn’t the same species.
Anyone like Celestia, who’s a beautiful and powerful alicorn, don’t ever fit as a “mom” for such a small, goofy, clumsy fire-burping character like Spike.
It ain’t worth to think or imagine this only because it’s just… cute.
Edited
Agreed. Celestia has always been an underused character.
@kleptomage
Yeah, that’s a crying shame it hasn’t been addressed.
I mean, it doesn’t have to be much.
“Hey mom-er, Celestia.” That might be very nail-on-the-head though, but you could get the message across like;
Celestia is doing something and Spike gets up at night with a slight bout of insomnia. He sees Celestia is all alone and says “Hey, umm, I can’t sleep… Could you, maybe, read me a story to go to sleep by? For old times sake?”
You’re welcome JAEneth! Hope to see more Spike arts from you. It’d be neat to see Spike with Cadance and Blueblood bonding.
Thanks! I love it to ;D
I’ve always thought Celestia must have played a large part in caring for Spike during his infancy. I mean, it’s not like Celestia would shove all responsibility for Spike off on Twilight, a little filly just starting school.
Let’s ignore the comic where Celestia did that.
That’s because Lauren Faust said that’s how she pictured it… but that’s not an idea that the show’s canon seems to have gone with. Celestia and Spike have barely interacted, let alone have a mother/son relationship.
