Hm. Does this prevent the effects of cards that just outright destroy a creature? And by those I mean cards like Flesh To Dust. Or would those be classified as noncombat damage? Because if the latter is true, this would be a nice counter to more than a few mono-black decks.
It’s kinda weird that fighting doesn’t count as combat damage. As long as no planeswalkers are involved, Snails can beat up on anypony he wants without fear of retribution.

Hm. Still a good card, though. Low cost, decent base stats, and can’t be smashed with Lightning Bolt.
Nope. This will die to Flesh to Dust just as easily as Dawn Elemental. Hence the disclaimer.
