Yeah. I’d be more than happy to allow banner ads and things like that if they won’t so invasive, annoying, and dangerous. Like, I understand they need ads to pay their bills, but I’m not going to risk the computer I bought and paid for for that sake :D

uBlock is so useful, having the ability to choose what scripts on the site run is indeed very nice because the vast majority of viruses and such are far less reasonable and far less adorable than elkie Malwarebytes has saved me a few times as well.

I use a bunch of little things too. The VPN has a featured called “PIA Mace” that blocks domains for ads and malware, I use McAfee antivirus and Malwarebytes, and I have Ghostery and uBlock Origin as plugins in my browser. uBlock has the really great element block option, where you can right-click on anything on a site and just remove it. It’s really useful :D

I just run 3 different ad/script blockers. Can occasionally break sites yeah but its worth it to not get virus auto-downloaded.

I don’t trust any sites to not do sketchy stuff, but only because I’m not good with computers so I don’t actually know what anyone is or isn’t capable of online. Like, I don’t use the internet, period, without a VPN, and even then I basically have to hope the VPN I use (Private Internet Access) isn’t doing sketchy stuff XD

I mean, I understand why they axed Flash, but damned if I don’t miss it. It was just such a cornerstone of internet culture for so long, like so many things and creators got their start with flash-based games and animations :D

Maybe. She would be in a decent position to run interference against other, less pone-based virus’, but at the same time as a virus her idea of ‘good computer maintenance’ could be wildly different than yours. Since the first image seemed to indicate that she acts similar to a ‘standard’ virus and decided to shape up when presented with the possibility of ‘death by anti-virus’, even a ‘friendly’ virus-pone has good odds of causing some havoc, the best you could hope for is that it’s relatively harmless havoc.
 
And may the FSM help you if she ever decides to invite over some friends…

At this point, befriending the virus-pone would be better protection for the computer than any security program ever.
