Also, with Frodo and Sam professional writers, and literature specialist, wonder if Frodo and Sam’s relationship, isn’t homoerotic. especially that Sam, chooses to spend eternity with Frodo in canon, in the Undying lands, over being with his family, and Frodo never married.
Another factor, is that Tolkien took partly inspiration from strong male bonds from classical, and Biblical literature,ie Achiles and Patroclus, Herakles and Hylas, and David and Jonathan. Only that in the mythos, and other stories, Achiles was in a romantic relationship with Patroclus, as was Herakles with Hylas. David and Jonathan are also very heavily debated to be meant to be in a homosexual relationship, by Biblical researchers nevertheless. To be clear, all or nearly ll of these men, were bisexual, as bisexuality was often in very ancient times, especially in Greece.
All of these derive from the extremely old(4.6 thousand years old) relationship of Gilgamesh and Enkidu of Sumerian literature, who at lest in MANY versions, were lovers. David and Jonathan strong parallels to Gilgamesh and Enkidu, as well as Sumerian and Mesopotamian literature and religion, has immense influence on the Bible, and some consider Abrahamic faiths just an evolution of the Mesopotamian religion. Yes, the Bible has homophobic elements, but it also had many authors, who often actually hated each other(ie naming each other sons of Belial(Devil), compare to an Ancient Hebrew version of the Protestant vs Catholic conflict).

Maybe, but you needed a third example to find one, and again, it may end up like with Korra, were due to how strongly recieved the pairing is, the creators end up making it canon. And I don’t think Korra and Asami are a bad example. The two had tons of chemistry, and subtext, which by season 3 was intentional, and one had to blind to not notice it XD
Not to mention, intentionally, or not, as I mentioned, the lyric describing Sunset’s and Twilight’s relationship in the movie, has a romantic subtext, while Timber and Twilight’s relationship doesn’t have a sond about it, oddly XD:

As some notted, saddly Twilight’s and Sunset’s relatioship, would be probably a better love story and Timber an Twilight, if with very slight changes:

Even an official Polish commercial for Lord of the Rings, shipped Frodo and Sam, and Poland is a bit more homophobic among western countries XD

Scrubs is special case, because they are pretty much gay just without the actual attraction. If there was such a thing as platonic marriage, they would so leave their girlfriends/wives and do that instead.
1st off Asami and Korra was a pretty crappy example given we well never see how there reltionship plays out.

No, but I just say it happens in fiction, and human Twilight and Sunset have more substance to be revealed as in love, than Iceman. Again, their situation is very similar to that of Asami and Korra. SciTwi’s fear of magic, can be easily sean as fear of your own sexuality, especially that the lyric were which describes how Sunset makes Twilight embrace her magic, sounds semi-romantic:

You must’ve also missed my previous comment, were I analized the subject further.
About showing interest in girls, as the world is still saddly flawed, and LBGT characters have to be in cartoons more subtle about it. Again, take Adventure Time(ie Marceline was confirmed as bisexual, while having a boyfriend once, she had very strong chemistry with Princess Bubblegum, and Bubblegum is pretty much cofirmed as the love of Marceline’s life.) Again, or Legend of Korra, were characters bisexuality or homosexuality, had to be comfirmed by the creators. Again not saying SciTwi are bi in cannon…yet XD
Again, they have very strong chemistry, and Sunset can practically read Twilight feelings, (even before she unlocked the ability to read minds XD), a motive and occurence associated in fiction (and argubly reall life, but YMMV if it exists in reall life) with a very strong romantic bond(or being Twins XD, which Sunset and Twilight obviously aren’t).
And the twin thing, some cultures, like Native American ones, think Twins are reincarnated loves that shared that kind-off love, with that kind off bond…

Depends on how you interpret Sunset and Twilight’s(either, but more human Twilight’s) chemistry, and the fact Timber essentially akin to a non-magical substitute for Sunset, when you think about it.
I already gave the theory that the creators inserted the romance with Timber, partly to make Sunset and Twilight not seem as a couple, because as it was noted before, Timber’s and Twilight’s relationship, could be cut out completely, and it wouldn’t affect the rest of the plot. || It has no bearing on Timber’s arc with his sister, and on Twilights arc, as Timber literally plays no role in Twilight overcoming her mental issues, or any stuff connected to Twilight, aside from her romance. || The romance with Flash, affected Pony Twilight more, and the movies story, ie in the first movie, Flash helped to clear Twilight’s name, and in the Rainbow Rocks, him being controlled by the Dazzlings, caused Twilight visible distress, and made for her harder researching the counterspell song.
And who helps Twilight overcome all of her mental issues? || Sunset XD ||
Again, to be clear, I don’t hate Timber, I like him, just post my theory here, which I admit, is a bit far fetched XD

Well, at first, I must say I very respect you and your works Kibate, but I disagree Sunset and SciTwi come-off entirelly as having a sisterly bond in this movie, just like you disagreed about Rainbow Rocks XD
Again, even the main song, seems to almost pair SciTwi and Sunset, as it’s pretty visibly about them:

Also, this is completely my headcanon, but Timber comes of as a non-magical substitute for Sunset. Both Sunset and Timber work as birds of feather for SciTwi, but Timber’s only reall similarity, is being smart, while Sunset is not only smart, but also has many other similarities to SciTwi(ie both were antisocial/socially awkward originally, were outcasts(Sunset in Ranbow Rocks), didn’t have no friends, both became she-demons). This paralels are important, and brought up in the movie, and help Twilight to get over her issues.
Again, as Twilight feares magic, she can be seen as initially feearing getting closer to Sunset, and as I wrote above, have Timber as a substitute for her.
Also, the moment Sunset ignores Flash trying to restart a relationship with her, because she can only think about Twilight and her’s(Twilight’s) safety, also comes of as…interesting XD. Especially with the narration in the book about Sunset’s thoughts:
”What was he up to? She had to find out. She had to protect Twilight.“
Again though, just my headcanon XD
And in the end, I respect if you disagree, and still see Sunset’s and Twilight’s bond as coming of as fully sisterly.

Honestly, as an vivid Sunlight shipper(or at least i used to be)i have to disagree, this movie they seem to have been written as sister-like. While previously people told me pony-twi and sunset were sister-like during RR i disagreed, this time i think this statement fits very well(especially if you consider pony-twi and sunset a couple, and sci-twi merely being the awkward twin sister of her love interest)
I mean just look at this very image, Twi is embarrassed about her crush, and Sunset is smiling to her in an approval sort of way. Nothing romantic NOR platonic about this at all
it’s more about how both he and Flash are just shoehorned in as a token love interest, which is utterly boring. (That, and definitely not the preference of most people watching, I’d hazard to guess :P)
I’m not sure if I’d call Timber flat, exactly. Maybe? Uninteresting, sorta. A colossal tool and trying way too damn hard? Absolutely.
Seriously, why is this guy attractive? He just feels suspicious. Which I guess was the point because he’s an obvious red herring to disguise Gloria being the villain, but…that also works against him as a love interest. When your love interest is a dude whose defining characteristics are 1) is shifty and 2) makes really crappy puns, you’ve kinda written a bad love interest.
And with such flat, uninteresting characters too! Sunset is RIGHT THERE, writers. User her damnit!

Well, you see it, especially how Sunset cares about Scilight in this movie, but thinks Twilight will be happier with Timber:
