They are green (watch the Youtube vid in source to see when it is not lit), its just that the light through glass of the eyes comes out more blue due to the camera/angle. The light looks green tinted - see the glow in the open mouth.
if they do light up shouldn’t they be green?
The toy’s eyes light up, so they appear blue here.
Hence the real spoiler: the big dragon isn’t “Spike” at all, but his father and/or an alternate reality version of himself.
