He puts Patreon info on all his work. It’s being sold, to the tune of $121 per month. Even if it weren’t, it’s just lazy and wrong to steal the work of others without even taking five seconds to credit them. So it is, in fact, my issue, as I am an artist who thrives on the goodwill and integrity of the community.

Right here. I will say that this one doesn’t match the lines exactly, which is nice, but it has the minor details of the original still left in, just redrawn. Very weird. People will probably call it “heavily referenced” and just stop caring. However, it’s also still monetized and still doesn’t source the original. This one also happens to be the work of a friend of mine - not that he usually cares about people doing this kind of thing - but it strikes a little closer to home because of it.

It’s not acceptable to blatantly trace without crediting the artist.  
It’s piggybacking off of their work without giving them any of the credit, and frankly, I don’t appreciate anyone who thinks it’s a “non-issue” and that we shouldn’t call out people that won’t do their own work.

I encourage you to stop involving yourself in non-issues of other people. This image is not being sold, no one paid for it, you don’t have to look at it. I don’t know you feel like you need to do this.

Can you prove this artist has traced before?

Yeah dude, sheer coincidence that this particular artist (who has traced before) would draw the “most important” silhouette exactly the same as this other, fairly popular artist’s work. Total coincidence. I can see also that you would have no idea how hard it actually is to exactly copy lineart without drawing directly over it. I encourage you to try.

Not everything is a trace. Just because it looks similar, does not mean it’s a trace. And that particular pose looks like it would be easy to do without tracing.  
Also, this image isn’t even monetized, it’s clearly a personal one of his own OC, so your comment on that makes no sense.
