That’s assuming the changelings wouldn’t just ambush them on their way to the town. If they can get three princesses, they can jump a fourth and a unicorn while alone and far away from civilization. If Starlight did pick Twilight, the changelings probably would’ve just taken her too. Even if they didn’t, the changelings win since Trixie wouldn’t be around to help Starlight escape from the town or aid in the rescue.
