I don’t think the show really care about interspecies. They didn’t want to canonise Sparity because he’s a child character, ot because he’s differnet species. And they did made pony Twilight fall for human Flash as well as had human Flash date pony Sunset. So they already canonised interspecies relaitonships. Under this regard, FlutterCord is a completely safe to ship. You can only argue that the age differnece is too big for them but the show mich be progressive enough to ignore this barrier.

To be quite honest, the reason why I don’t think Fluttercord would work in the first place is because of……interspecies, almost compared to Spike and Rarity or somewhat Spike and Starlight Glimmer.
