Note how the magic aura on the rope acts like the rope is glowing. Contrast this to most other telekinesis auras in the rest of the series, where the magic is amorphous, like the magic on their horns.

Interesting, I am surprised a mod hasn’t come to shut you down. I like this discussion. You may be right that the magic is the same form, but the usage is certainly not. I’d love for you to tell me how similar the magic use seen in “Every Little Thing She Does” can compare to what Trixie uses it for in “Boast Busters.”

Hasbro approves the scripts, so Meghan McCarthy or someone else at Hasbro Studios. Jim is not employed by Hasbro. The writers themselves are freelance, so don’t work for Hasbro nor DHX.
 
Jim directs (organizes) the crew after Hasbro “locks” or finalizes the script so that the episode can be created according to the approved script. DHX can add things not in the script (some ad-libbing by VAs, storyboards, layout, animation, post-production), but Hasbro has the final say over everything.
 
I’m honestly not sure how much say Jim has about a script before it’s finalized.

What the fuck am I reading. “Show magic” is no different than just magic like what twilight does. You sound like jim. Not to mention that would be the lamest fucking thing ever, it completely ruins her character into being a useless hack who does fake tricks in a magical world. Fuck this.

trixie can’t do legit unicorn magic that we know about, she can only do “show” magic, thus what her cutie mark says.

I can’t help but notice that frogposter1234 was bugging him about Trixie about the same time these GIFs were posted here. I wonder if people realize that Jim doesn’t write nor approve the episodes. DHX is a company hired by Hasbro to make cartoons, and Jim works for DHX, not Hasbro. It’s a collaborative effort, sure, but still.

I dunno. In the show, it seems that only exceptionally skilled unicorns/alicorns have ever been able to teleport. As shown later in Boast Busters, Trixie isn’t as skilled as she made herself out to be, because she’s a show pony, not a great magic user.

What I never got about this episode was how they were more impressed with simple telekinetic magic instead of actual physical skills. It was like comparing apples to oranges, no pun intended.

It does sorta bug me how the show makes Twilight and Starlight the only unicorns (Seasons 1-3 for Twi) who can do any kind of spells while others don’t. It’s like having Harry Potter the only wizard who can do spells or having Anakin Skywalker the only one who can use the force.

I don’t recall her doing any spells in the new episodes, they didn’t even give her the invisibility spell.

It’s really weird how Trixie doesn’t do any real magic whatsoever in season six. She has to relay on Starlight to do the transport spell, which would probably be one of the easier spells.
