There are also Voldorians (Vordorians?) the race of nekomimi. And the merfolk from Ragna.  
Race of humanoid equines, who can manipulate Spiritia (as magic do not exist in Macross, but spiritia does), may even fit in almost seamlessly.  
Either way, if someone would decide writing a fanfic, there won’t be any need to use parallel universe travel, the two shows’ fundamental concepts don’t contradict each other.  
Celestia is not outside the power levels of stronger Protodevlin or “Evil series”; and music and harmony are close concepts, so spells can be even interwoven in songs.
 
Though, wiping out NUNS fleet without mind control, like the Windemerians had, can result in Grace-level Dimension Eater dropped on you, so it’s best she wouldn’t do that.

Well the Zolans, were created p, by the Protoculture from a Marsupial base. Unlike Terrains, and the Tents which were Mammal (Primate), based. So yeah why not a race of sentient Equines that can fly, and use magic?
 
I could see Celestia wiping out a small NUNS fleet with a Solar Flare now…

Interestingly enough, with how Delta has expanded Macross universe, anthro-Equestria is not outside the realm of possibility there. (Or, alternatively, pseudo-EQG where everyone are naturally ponied-up).

The tag “vf-11b” seems to have a couple of hits.

Any day I see a variable fighter of any designation, whether it be the old but reliable VF-1 Valkyrie, or the state-of-the-art VF-31 Siegfried, is a good day to me.
