A Keelback? With its flappy engines?
Well I aspire to engineer a Saud Kruger ship one day.
It’s frustrating with the Chieftain, since it’s already quite misaligned even in first-person. It bums me out immensely as I’m quite a big Lakon fan (spent my most recent beta session engineering my Keelback).
You’d think with a new ship any issues would be fixed… frontier plz
If you have any Lakon or Delacy ships, go into the third-person camera, look at yourself, and see where the displays are and compare them to where they seem to be while in first-person.
Checked it out on the Chieftain tonight and it has the exact same problem.
I hereby dub thyne fine art ‘Fleur De Lance’
Edited because: I said dub not sumbit no Interdictions plz
I thought Gutamaya were lefties. But I know that both the Fer De Lance and the Adder are right handers.
Misaligned volumetric displays?
I agree that it’s well done. Besides, my main contention is more with the misaligned volumetric displays in the game-proper than in this piece.
It is well done. And even the oddity of there being no pad can be explained pretty easily.
@Cirrus Light
Yeah, the Fer-de-Lance is setup with the pilot on the right. So she’s either reconfigured it for left hand piloting or she’s the copilot.
You can actually see the panel on the left say; “Welcome to Fer-De[cut off by her hoof]”
From what I understand the artist just pulled a lot of referencing but isn’t a regular player? That’d make sense of the fact that she has the “launch” option while there’s no pad outside :p
They may’ve missed a few things, but all things considered, they did a pretty good job, I’d say.
Seat’s on the wrong side though, as Zorgon (and I believe Gutamaya as well) ships are right-hand drive (for lack of a better term).
That’s what the readout there looks like, and it matches up with most pictures of a Fer-De-Lance, so I’m going to say “Yes.”

Image broken :p
Good, you can add me and Cirrus so then we actually have people to play with…though I’m still a wee way away, as you can tell by my paintjob:
@Cirrus Light
I’m fine with the overall aesthetics, it’s just that I’m not the biggest fan of how the anaconda looks.
I think it looks pretty neat, but I’ve found opinions are oddly split on how people like the aesthetics of Elite’s ships.
Don’t know if I’d call Elite Dangerous (Or any of the Elite games) an RPG. It’s a space sim open sandbox, really, always has been. And yeah, it’s always been awesome just to take flight to explore. (Or do some space trucking, when the need to upgrade strikes.)
It’s RPG, first, though, so if you would freaking love to live in the distant future, you’ll love it, but if you’re looking for arcade action, not so much.
But hey, all the context around the action makes it a lot more intense, IMO.
Though personally I’m way off in deep space exploring.
