Nothing annoys me as much on this site as people trying to dictate what is and isn’t accurate or correct. They are cartoon characters that already look very different from real horses. That really should be the end of the discussion. What’s so hard about letting other people just watch or draw the tings they personally enjoy?

Even if I were to accept this ridiculously weak argument for 3 seconds, These situations were from seasons 1-2 which EVERYONE knows was before the animators and writers starting taking the show’s universe seriously. In all later seasons the characters were shown to be wearing Equine Accurate clothing.
 
Now if you are referring to the scenes that I think you are, they did so in that way so that a HUMAN audience could relate to the comical humor taking place.
 
If Fluttershy or Rarity suddenly tried covering their crotch only, which would be more accurate since their teats are located just above, it would cause sensors to have a hayday with it since that simple gesture would bump the rating to PG-13 which Hasbro clearly would not approve of.

Crotchboobs are uncanonical with the show as both Rarity and Fluttershy when unexpectedly uncovered on two separate occasions move to cover up their top.
 
Yes you can say actual ponies aren’t like that but actual ponies don’t come in a variety of colours, don’t have cutiemarks and can’t you know fly or work magic.

I find this hilarious for many reasons. :P
 
The biggest reason being those who draw ponies with human anatomy(aka books on upper chest, human vagina) always annoyed me because it was inaccurate but I learned to deal with it. ;)
