I wonder if it would work calling ex-royal guards that turned traitor as renegades
it was a nice alternative (well, the only alternative) back then.
on the one hand, it had that nice 80’s Hanna-Barbara action show artwork and good sound work and frankly the backstory of the characters was pretty clever (politics, backstabbing, and the gobots are actually cyborgs and not robots)
on the other hand, the animation was…iffy and the writing was, at best, cheesy. sure Transformers was also cheesy at times, but it had a way usually of salvaging it’s dignity.
