Hasbro misspelled her name in the original episode, and in some merchandise. Cadence was supposed to be her name. It was the musical term. Pony names always mean something. Then they tried to correct it back, but it had stuck so much, they gave up. Now she has two different “official” spellings. “Cadance” spread so much, even the MLP wiki uses it, even though it acknowledges the error made by Hasbro.
 
So yeah, it’s Cadence. And besides, the musical pun in This Day Aria only makes sense with that spelling.

That’s what I’ve been trying to tell people for years!

It bothers me too, but then again there is no issue what so ever keep writing Princess Cadence, both ways are right, Miamore Cadenza means My Love Cadence (yes cadence is a word) But Hasbro changed to Cadance for better public reception since this is the more normal variant in USA.
 
I will always write Cadence with the E but I learned not to try changing how other people write it, since it won’t make a difference… But like I said nobody “corrects me” for saying Cadence here or anywhere else (I have RPG group for ponies) so why should I try to correct them?
