Also, the music is just mind blowing. This soundtrack alone got me really pumped up! If you liked the first film, check it out. To me, its a worthy follow up to the original.”

They were de novo, human level sapient computer programs that arose from the structures he made for the new grid. If he could export them from the system, they would bring new insight into other human endeavors.
I liked the visuals and designs of Legacy (though I do kinda miss the rule-screwing CGI ness of the old designs), but as a big computer geek myself I hated how the cyberworld stuff was less… genuine than in the first. I mean really, the first movie’s take on the Grid would have made perfect sense to a software engineer of the day (or even today), but the second one seemed to put rule of cool first then sense second. That and being a user was less a big deal this time around.
The story was kinda disappointing at times too- my Dad and I pretty much spent the entire trip home after seeing it in theaters collaborating on our own version of how some of the plot points could have made more sense or certain scenes could have been done better. Seriously, am I the only one that doesn’t really get what was supposed to be such a big deal about the ISO’s? I get why CLU would want to delete them, but not why Flynn would consider them to be such a huge paradigm shift for the rest of the world.
This is one of my favorite movies. The final confrontation is just incredible. Thanks to the subtext, it’s just full to brimming with hurt, sadness, and love, that are practically tangible.
