I mean… yheah. That’s all true enough, but some critters have rotational symmetry, not just lateral symmetry. They tend to be ‘simpler’ lifeforms, like worms and plants, but in general you are right.
To add something to the question of the brain though, it could be like the squid. It’s entire body, except the beak it uses to eat, is soft… and therefor offers no protection from impact. As a result, the squid’s brain seems to have moved towards the center of mass. This is great, except for one thing. The center of mass is already occupied by the digestive tract.
So… fun fact, the squid’s brain is donut shaped, and the throat passes through the hole in the middle.
Fun fact #2, as a result, if a squid attempts to eat something too large, or that has hard edges, it can suffer brain damage.
I’d imagine the tatzl is either like this, spreads its brain out (like a jellyfish neural web) or that it has multiple semi-brains like an octopus’ limbs.

Most creatures are designed with what ever part of their body contains the legs goes to the bottom, where it will touch the earth. And whatever part has its eyes will be towards the top, so it can see where it’s going…
I’d love to see someone try to draw a picture trying to figure out what part of the Tatzlwurm is up and what part is down, taking into account each of the three jaws has two eyes each. And as a extra bonus where the heck is it’s brain located. XD

@Keith Mowz
I wasn’t suggesting putting two pairs of eyes on each side, that’d be too busy. Just a pair with one on each side, something similar to what some Spider-pony/Driders have. It wouldn’t necessarily need the trifurcated jaw (not that I hate those), and I feel the design wouldn’t be too big of a challenge to work with. shrugs
All I can really picture is a tatzlwurm with legs.
@Meanlucario
lol. …oh wait, that means that he doesn’t like any of my tatzlponies. :(
@Pirill
hmm… well, ponies have cows and sheep in their farms. I imagine there would be no ethical issues.
I have no idea how that would even work considering the symmetry Tatzlwurm heads have by just being a tube.
That said, I do like a more ponyish design for the Tatzlponies, cute and huggable!
@Markiz93
I honestly never even considered this to be a somewhat original concept! :O
@Guardian Talon
Would a Tatzlpony having a Tatzlwurm farm be considered ethical?
I seem to be in the minority of people who do like the trifurcated jaw, but adding extra eyes doesn’t have any aesthetic appeal, IMO.
I asked him. His response was:
“Oh hell no D:
I don’t even like the split jaw that some tatzlponies have :P”
There goes that idea.
Good point.
Ask Badumsquish, he’ll know what to do.

I never thought about it before but I wounder how the 2 would get along.
