The Minis are more related to the show, while the Dolls were not. The doll stuff actually came first, and designs are reworked to fit the movies. For example, the Dazzlings had their Dolls first, including character designs, and then they began working on designs for them in Rainbow Rocks, which ended up redesigning them. For instance, they had additional streaks of color in their hair in their doll designs which were removed for Rainbow Rocks, and Sonata Dusk had cool shades which were, for some mad reason, removed.

The minis are probably easier and cheaper to make. It’s the same deal with how GI Joe used to be this huge doll with huge but expensive vehicles, but then they came up with the great idea to downscale it all to make them cheaper and faster to produce, as well as making them more affordable to customers. Unlike the Dolls, the Equestria Girls Minis are also sellable to collectors and custom toy hobbiests.

There’s not really a reason for them not to be friends either until we find out more about EqG Glimmer.

That would be really lame. There is literally no reason for them to be friends. Starlight Glimmer’s life must have been completely different in the Human world, and her troubled past would not have come to pass unless they decide to make a different troubled past for her… Or just make her a bitch…

I feel like human Starlight Glimmer should’ve at least had a hairstyle based on her old manestyle.

I have been aware of this since they were announced. Going by this toy set, I can only assume at least one of them is about some kind of film festival, a movie or a documentary, possibly on Daring-Do..

I think the best option would be to combine the two versions of her. Lose the dress and regain her mini-top from the first design. The jeans can stay. Of course, her Jacket is Eternal.

From a new movie or one or more of the special episodes? Starlight Glimmer has no reason to be like her Pony counterpart, and it could be a side-plot that Princess Twilight(who I hope comes back) is noticing and comparing differences between the two worlds and everyone’s counterparts.
