The key is to make them look plushy with detail, rather than just making them look bigger.

is actually thin, but looks very plushy and cush, and you wouldn’t even realize it’s thin unless you look carefully at it.
 
My gallery is full of diapers that aren’t actually that thick but feel very plush because of the details. I think the biggest thing is the cushy outline. Gallery

That explains it a lot. It want to make them proper thick diapers, so I’m going to work more towards that.

“Disposable Underwear” is a euphemism often used for adult diapers.
 
Pullups are definitely a kind of diaper, though. I mean, the tag is now “pullup (diaper)”.
 
They’re usually not as plush and thick as tapey diapers, but there are some that are pretty decent, and fundamentally speaking there’s no reason they couldn’t be.
 
But, you know, they’re just the kinds of diapers you pull on like underwear instead of taping the sides on. Sometimes called “training pants” since they let a potty training pony practice using the bathroom with undies that slide up and down but also have the accident-catching abilities of a diaper. But since diapers are underpants meant to contain waste and they’re meant to contain waste, they’re definitely diapers, too.
 

 
Sorry I got long-winded. Just fun talking about diapers, right? Hehe. And it’s kinda complicated like pullups are both underpants and diapers and have a reputation for being thinner but some are pretty decent.
 
Actually, thinking about it, I think they’re made with lower capacity since they’re not as intrinsically secure as something that tapes on like a belt, so if they get heavy from being too soaked or full they could slide down more easily. But some do have little tape tighteners on the side. And if you’re wearing pants or especially a onesie over it they’ll keep it from sliding down.

Lol, me neither. I’ve never been one for oversized diapers, but there is something nice about plush, but pullup diapers have their own charm. Soooooo meh.

I think it’s an interesting note that the only times we’ve seen the tapes on diapers in the show, they’ve been on the back. IRL, dog and other quadroped diapers use back-tapes.

But anyways, if you really wanna make it show-style, the cloud patterns are a bit much. Maybe. Aside from that, the rest might be close to show. I do like the clouds and hope you’ll keep drawing them, though.
 
Bear in mind there’s a reason, though, that diapers have so much detail in diaper fetish pictures. People with diaper fetish will be drawn to the diaper just like a face.
 
Notice how ponies’ bodies are relatively featureless compared to the face. The rest of the body combined might equal the amount of complexity and time/attention given to the face. That’s because the eyes are drawn there, therefore it makes sense to put a lot of detail in it. If the face had as little detail as the body, it’d look terribly oversimplified, or the body would look like it’s got way more attention than it should.
 
Interestingly, that’s kinda a way you can tell if there’s a fetish in a picture.
 
Say for example, if the hooves are drawn with great care and attention that rivals that of the picture’s other focus(es) (if any), then the person who drew it almost certainly has a hoof fetish. Same thing for diapers.
 
If you draw the diaper as plainly as would look normal to anyone else, it’d look terribly oversimplified, like an under-detailed face would.
 
But, also, it’s important to show texture.
 
Even in actual show-style, the diapers had quite a few little lines on them to show texture/detail, to make them look plush (probably because of Ponk’s mane?) :
 

 
It’s hard to strike a good in-between. Show style means low detail, so it doesn’t look over-detailed. But you’ve got to convey very strongly a feeling of plushness, thickness, crinkliness and all the wonderful snugness of a thick diaper with very little detail. I think I’ve only seen a real show-level of detail diaper pull it off once before:

Yeah, I see what you mean on show style. If you look at my artist tag you’ll see I’ve experimented with more show-ish diapers before.
 
The plushness just looks so amazing if you change the outline in the thick padding area like I did, though, so, I dunno. It’s give and take :q

Something else on the point of style, I’d like to still keep it within the show’s style parameters. Details are great! But I don’t want to do too much otherwise they start looking out of place.

Thanks. The responses I got from a chat I’m in are _{admittedly constructive} criticisms that they’re not up to my standards. Which is kinda a backhanded compliment. But I do see what they mean. I almost feel a need to re-do it from scratch just to “do it right”.
 
Might also make it Pinks just for kicks. Or Twi. I dunno. It’d just be a matter of recoloring and redoing the mane and tail. Requests between the two?

It’s decent enough. Certainly a welcome break from the recent dearth of good diaper pone. I’m kinda curious how you do the cloud pattern. What software do you use? Or I guess you probably just made one cloud and copied it manually?

Those ones do look much better, I see what you mean. This one actually came out pretty sloppy imo. I didn’t want to restructure the entire vector just a quick cleanup.

For reference, this took me about an hour, going through it and tweaking it to try to get it just right, and the style is something I’ve been perfecting for many months at least (hopefully to perfection). I can make some notes on it if you like.
