They do, despite their disgust at their friends’ lifestyles, they’ve still saved Equestria together numerous times. Even after their first game night turns Rarity into a fat slob trying to fit into cheap designer dresses, makes Fluttershy a shut-in furry, and returns Twilight to her former state as a book-obsessed conspiracy theorist.
 
Celestia provides them all with a stipend, both as thanks for saving Equestria, and as motivation to get out of their houses more. They do… With all that money, they can afford the latest game consoles, and gaming sleepovers are nice once in a while. Sometimes, a villain threatens the world (and their internet connections), forcing them to go out, but their former, successful, well-adjusted selves are gone forever, turned into fat, lazy lesbians with no interest in anything aside from playing games and stuffing their greasy faces.

The Ebay listing said the game console was cursed, but Rainbow didn’t believe in that garbage. All she saw was the latest console, at half the usual price, coming with a bunch of big-name games. She knew Pinkie would love it, though none of the other girls really cared for video games.
 
The seller warned that anyone who played it would ‘turn into a real gamer’. Now, eight hours and 400 pounds later, Rainbow was beginning to see what they meant. Every time she won a round, she gained a pound. Every time Pinkie won, she gained a pound. Whenever they lost, something around them would change. The furniture, their clothing… A few rounds in, their water bottles turned into energy drinks, and their banana chip snacks became bags of salty Lays.
 
Just a few rounds ago, Rainbow’s job at the weather factory disappeared, replaced with memories of being a lifelong NEET. Pinkie was feeling the same effects, as her job at the counter of Sugarcube Corner turned into a job in the back, out of fear of scaring away customers with a massive slob of a mare. It wouldn’t be long before she joined Rainbow as a lazy, unemployed gamer, living in the basement suite paid for by her parents. What would happen to the Elements of Harmony now?
