Villain defeated, declares they want you to die and aren’t giving up on that hope = justification to “let go” if there ever was any. “Obvious” kill.
Villain defeated, declares submission and apology, begging for mercy optional = Unclear. Perhaps morally best to forgive (debatable to many… Sadly), but dangerous to do so, as they’re probably just faking?
Villain wasn’t defeated, but quits evil plot and submits entirely = Starlight Glimmer.

This makes me wonder… What if a villain was helpless and begged for mercy while declaring their submission?
You’d think they’d spare them… I dunno. It’s kinda disturbing because she’s totally defeated, and it makes the whole situation very clear if she monologues about “you will fall!” that if she’s spared she’ll keep trying to kill her, but what if that wasn’t the case?
It’s pretty amazing from the get go, and Tartakovsky really out did himself compared to what I watched years ago. The one thing I was actally worried about was the new voice for Aku, since Mako Iwamatsu died, but I actually like the new voice for him.
It’s the 5th season. A bit goryer than the previous four, yet MUCH more action packed.

New season, really. Taking place 50 years after Season 4. Unless you’re being British in referring seasons as series.
