Ugh, sounds like the kinda fanfics I hate…
 
But yeah, regardless this hospital story is at least kinda cute.

This is one of the reason why Pun rubs me the wrong way. A pony who goes around making puns was turned into a super hero/secret agent with a sad origin story that kind of screams “Mary Sue” to me. Which is made worse by the fact that Pun is portrayed as the real hero while the Mane Six, and especially Twilight, are just a bunch of stupid fillies that don’t know anything about how the world really works.
 
And according to this comic she’s also 1/8 dragon which is thankfully played for laughs and doesn’t give her any new super powers. Still, I wouldn’t be surprise to see a future story arc about her unlocking some sort of hidden dragon power to save the day.
 
But enough of me ranting. Overall the hospital story is a lighthearted arc that focuses on cute and funny moments. There’s some serious stuff here and there but it’s not dragging the mood down. I wish we would’ve more stuff like this.

It was.
 
Until one day someone decided what this lighthearted blog really needs is a tragic backstory. Now Pun is the solve survivor of a robbery in which a lot of ponies, including her best friend, died as result of a killer joke. Pun somehow managed to survive and then became a secret member of the Night guard called Agent 707 with her own magic armor that makes her look like a bat pony. Also she was once the librarian of Ponyville until that evil meanie head Twilight Sparkle stolen her job and her home. Also also there’s this Unicorn Supremacists who tries to overthrow the Alicorn’s and has lost two of his legs during his previous encounters with Pun.
 
No this isn’t an April Fools’ joke, but believe me I wish it was.
 
To be fair all that happened a long time ago, so I don’t know if any of this is even canon anymore.

Now wasn’t this character’s gimmick just a silly, lighthearted Tumblr blog that relied on a pony making a lot of puns, or am I thinking of something else?
 
Because this sudden drama is… jarring, to say the very least.

What happened to Pun? Why is she injured?
