Fair point. I’m just going off of what I see as a whole from the community we have. We’re made primarily of a younger generation of people that desires more to see new content than it is to know what’s next. It’s the freshness rather than the quality of something, and we’re actually pretty lucky to get both with our show. We’re overstimulated with the entertainment that we do get, that we will more often than not look over poorly-made plots in favor of how great something looks. It’s not secret that in-between seasons is when things kinda die down for a bit. I suspect that this site, Fimfiction, and a number of artists will fade when the show ends.

The original Star Trek was not a hit in its original run. In fact, it was cancelled after three seasons. It wasn’t until reruns were in syndication that it became a massive hit. That was literally 50 years ago.
 
While G4 will eventually end one day, as long as there are people who still consider themselves fans, the fandom will never die. Trekkies had to go 11 years without any new material, and then they got a single crappy movie. They had to wait an additional 8 years before another show was launched. But the fandom still existed, quite strong.
