Neither does her body understand why she would go and consume butter in this way.
And as for an explanation for Xeno-set’s butter eating, odds are that it’s the closet thing to a quick and readily available source of salt (Possibly because she sweats out water at a rate faster than a human does, so she needs the salt to retain water?) Proteins and butter fat as well as water itself.
Just an idea off the top of my head.
