I screwed up big time, guys. I hate this picture so much, I was rushed, but I felt you guys deserved an answer as far as the name goes, so I hurried to finish it before I got REALLY busy.
I’m going to go to school full time come fall, and I have stuff I NEED to get done before that. So I was gonna post this and move on to work on my other stuff, and be too busy to post anything else really.
Anyways, I screwed up on the shading by putting my colors and my outlines in the same layer, so when I tried to shade it, it shaded the outline. (It looked awful) and I was rushed so the pic itself looks choppy.
Sorryyy XP
I MIGHT have time to draw and post something else, but my schedule’s erratic, so don’t count on it.
But I’m new to derpibooru and nobody really knows me lol, so I don’t think I’ll be letting down a bunch of people if I have to leave and work on other stuff for awhile. I just felt like writing this excessively long explanation for anybody that was wondering or knew me lol
Lol totally, I’m going to spend A lot more time on my future drawings, and I’m going to be a lot more thorough.
Keep in mind the skeleton and proportions. However you move things, don’t break bones or bend them the wrong way :p
Also, looking at that reference pic you shared, I realize I could have just raised the rump to make the body shorter XP
I’ll do that in the future lol
Huh, I don’t know how to use vector, I should try to learn how sometime (my lines aren’t as smooth as some art I’ve seen, wish it was)
I’ve traced for a long time, but now I can just use references. I try to avoid tracing 100% (It doesn’t feel like my art if I do) but I know it’s REALLY helpful sometimes
Finding references is always good. Hah, as a vector artist, I even trace sometimes - quite a bit, actually. That’s normal for vectors. And for training artists. Here’s a similar pose >>925017
Yeah, I noticed it was too long, but when I tried to shorten it I couldn’t draw the arm correctly. I thought I might’ve been able to get away with it, but that was a bad idea lol
It’s really the length of the body that I was getting at. Mlp ponies are not at all like real horses.
But you’re welcome, it’s np.

Thanks man! I really should study the anatomy more, it’ll probably help me draw better. I’m downloading that for a reference!
Thanks for suggesting this, I think it’ll really help me! (when I tried to draw his left foreleg I didn’t like how it looked, that was as good I could get it)
Also, that’s amazing! I really really like what you did with berry! I’m liking and favoriting your picture, it’s REALLY good, and creative! (I like your version of the mane better than mine tbh lol)
It’s not my name btw, it was a suggestion by an anonymous poster. But yeah I think it’s a really good name!
But don’t feel bad, it still looks better than my early “
longcatlongdog “ drawings. A little study and practice and I’m sure you’ll get it - and I’m not exaggerating, it only takes a little bit if you’re attentive.Look around at guides on pony proportions and tutorials. There’s a great one if you Google ‘pony proportions’.
My favorite is in the first few results, but they’re all very good.
Your anatomy is actually pretty good. You understand how back legs work.
