I’ve never heard an account that would show that anyone there is actually happy, besides that one ex-pat American that the ruling class of NK like to tout around who is treated like a king while he berates the local populace and says they’re scum.
 
Meanwhile, I’ve heard numerous accounts from visitors and from NK ex-pats who say everyone is absolutley miserable. As far as I’m aware, it’s a land of full of empty smiles and loaded rifles.
 
That being said, I’m sure there are people who are genuinely happy there, I simply haven’t heard about them.
 
SK is pretty chill though, they might be a bit authoritarian by western standards (depending on precicley what standards you’re referring to of course), but there’s virtually no comparison to NK to be had.

Wonder how the people of north Korea would feel if they knew that the U.N. was trying for years to get them food but their “glorious leader” was stopping it.

I understand what a nation pony is, but I’ve never really tried talking to anyone from either North or South Korea. I’m sure some of them are pretty chill.
