It’s just being assumed considering that (by Discovery Family’s schedule) the specials are going to run during the hiatus, and the last episode before that is Not Asking For Trouble.
There’s no proof either way but it does make sense especially if they want them to take place during the middle of season seven.

Well, there was some mention about Twilight being busy on some Friendship Problem, which is why she wasn’t at the castle, so that might have something to do with a later episode, maybe even the finale. There have been no maps episodes this season other than Starlight’s, so maybe the finale actually summons all of the Mane 6 for a mission for the first time since “The Cutie Map”.
There can be a bit of timeline fudging. But Mirror Magic very likely takes place after Season 6’s finale, and there’s nothing in it to indicate something at the end of Season 7 has happened.
True but we got Friendship Games around a similar time during s5 and it spoiled the finale weeks before it aired
I feel quite confident that Dance, Movie, and Mirror Magic take place in the middle of Season 7, since we’re getting a brief hiatus in the middle of S7 anyway.
It looks that way in every shot it appears in, so not likely.

I agree that the purple color here is a bit closer to Starlight’s, but…
This one has three edges on the “white” star. Starlight’s cutie mark has only two points on the white star on one side, and the purple star is in the wrong angle. It’s probably still Twilight’s.
