The appeal, (At leat to my theory) Was that we have some sort of unfinished section in our brain, and our brain is telling us to somehow get back into the womb. That’s my theory, absolutely no science, don’t quote me on it.

^It depends on the person of course, but mainly:
 
-The whole aspect of dominance and submission which predator and prey relationships naturally imply (of course this is taken a little further than most bdsm).  
-The intimacy of the whole act (they ain’t gonna get any closer than that)  
-Obviously the thought of the physical sensations during certain parts of it.
 
…and there are always more reasons depending once again on the individual, people who like fatal vore tend to like the finality of it (amongst other things) and those who prefer non-fatal tend to see a more caring aspect to it.
 
And finally, there is just that inexplicable feeling of being drawn to it for no apparent reason, which is almost always coupled with any or all of the above. Most people feel this inclination with their respective fetishes.
