First of all, she was doing her job, that’s not her “showboating tendencies coming back to bite her in the butt”, that’s her parents being insensitive and interrupting her at work.
 
Pretty much anyone would have a right to be embarrassed and angered by that, especially when they showed up unannounced and continuously got in the way of their team practices.
 
I know you’re desperate to hate Rainbow Dash for no reason other than the fact that you like to nitpick only her flaws and act like her positive aspects don’t matter, but in the end you’re just pretending that her flaws are the only thing about her that should be allowed to be acknowledged. Stop it.

You’re just trying to defend a jerk character, that’s very often doing things without thinking, like all the time. And you’re the one who started this crap up again, when the discussion had ended two weeks before.
 
And couldn’t you put 2 and 2 together and understand that the whole selling Fluttershy thing was obviously talking about how selfish she can be. I didn’t think it was rocket science.
 
That’s why I brought it up, because Rainbow Dash does that kind of selfish crap all the time, only to learn AFTER that it was wrong, some things were just common sense kind of things and not a thing that needs to be learned. She’s your typical jock type character that tries to be show off and be the center of attention all the time and does many things without thinking of how that thing might effect others.
 
You just don’t like me pointing out the flaws of the character you most likely relate to. And you try to put words in my mouth with stupid comments like “you can’t handle people liking her”. No doubt because you’re running out of things to say.
 
Well, at least you’re not fanatic about Luna, who’s the most overrated character in the show.

What the hell does selling fluttershy (which was an accidnet she immediately attempted to fix) have to do with her liking attention? You don’t know what the hell you’re talking about do you. You’re just bringing up random mistakes RD’s made in the past because you can’t handle people liking her.

And the fact that she still shows selfishness and attention seeking are still there, the fact that it happened in Trade Ya is testament to that. It’s not like I’m basing her off that one episode, so don’t put words in the mouths of others.

I don’t love Dash myself, but Toasted has a point. We also have to looks and see that Dash was embarrassed at first by the attention, than got caught up in it. As for Trade Ya, I tend don’t base characters on one episode, since writers can mess up on occasions, and even than she realized how much she fucked up almost as soon as she made the deal. And while she’s still egotistic, her selfishness has dwindled over the seasons, and has made her into a Lovable Jerk type of character.

I mean RD has shown in the past that she can be very selfish and ego driven.
 
Remember the Mare do Well episode? The whole was about how she basking in the praise she got for helping ponies, which is something she just should’ve done regardless of getting any praise.
 
And let’s not forget the time she sold Fluttershy. Sold another pony, for a stupid book.

Newsflash: Rainbow Dash isn’t one-dimensional.
 
Just because she likes attention doesn’t mean she wants to be smothered by it all the time. Beside, she wants recognition for great accomplishments, not for every little mundane thing she does.

Well, I’ll give you that, to an extent. Their timing there was not the best, but that doesn’t change the fact that Rainbow Dash is a huge attention whore, with or without her parents.
 
And I do think that them over praising Dash didn’t help with her to learn to be humble. So I guess that teaches us to not over praise our kids.

It’s that Rainbow Dash doesn’t have the right to complain about her parents since she’s been shown many times to be an attention whore in the past. I mean think about it people, she’s done that a lot in the show.
