Isn’t it like already implied Spike will be super buff as an adult no matter what? 
I mean, his big form in the greed episode was just like that.

This is pretty cool. It’s nice that Spike and BM are such good friends even if we don’t see them interacting that much in the show; it seems most of their friendly moments happen off-screen.

It is nice that Spike has a guy friend to hang out with and have as a role model, but “father figure” is going a bit far. When we see Mac teaching Spike some life lessons and having a much more active role in his life apart from “excuse for Spike not to go on adventures with the mane cast,” then I think you’ll have a better argument.

New headcanon: Spike sees Mac as a father figure and aspires to be more like him. It started when Mac saw Spike buying a board game and Spike was embarrassed until Mac told him that he forgot to buy the 12 sided die for the battle choices in section 3.5 section B.
