I guess it’s time for more dramatic sketches… I think I wanted to explore that marriage isn’t “happily ever after” and that story doesn’t end with the wedding.
But, hey, she had to do that. She was stuck. Here, however, she’s just dealing with it for Twilight’s sake… which is admirable. It really is. But it’s not something that she has to do, nor is it something that she should have to do.
Which is why I really, really like this little addition to our wonderful TwiLuna story that Silfoe’s built up.
I mean, sure, it sucks for Twilight that her Mom is being a complete ass about their relationship, but Velvet’s been aiming a great majority of her misplaced anger at Luna. Twi really does need to stick up for her lover; she’s tough enough to do it, even though I know it’s intimidating to approach one’s own mother in anger.
Be strong, Twilight. Luna needs you. It’s the only reason your Mom isn’t already evaporated or something.
Honestly, I gotta give Luna some credit for putting up with Velvet’s shit for as long as she has. Luna’s co-ruler of the entire nation. She doesn’t have to be this patient, but hey, it’s her wife’s mother, so stiff upper lip and soldier through the aggravation.
I’d have gotten fed up with Velvet’s shit a looooooooooooooooooong time ago xD .
If you read earlier parts of this blog, she’s scared that Luna might turn back into Nightmare Moon at any moment and thinks that Luna might be brainwashing Twilight… Even though the earlier parts of the blog were supposed to have resolved that part (though at the same time, I do appreciate that it wasn’t an instant resolution).
Okay, but why would Velvet resent Princess Luna? I mean, she’s Princess Luna!!! Honestly the only thing that make sense is that Velvet has a problem with the age difference.
@TheAbridgenator
They’d not want that to happen, being, in majority, attention-starved (but unable to fulfill that need due to ego consuming it all instead).
@thps48
It’s a common trope because it reflects common reality. And that’s sad.
We’re well-aware of that. The only thing that we’re going by at present is how Velvet is actually enacting this trope against not only a princess, but one that can take her down a thousand pegs and then some.
Honestly, if it weren’t for the mare she’s married to, I wouldn’t be surprised if Luna took this matter into her own hooves. If anything, she’s handling the situation quite delicately, especially when she addresses the issue to Twilight here XD
What the Hell are you people talking of? This is an immensely common in-law trope. It often takes years of bollocks runaround until there’s general acceptance. Three’s Company and Everybody Loves Raymond aren’t that old… <3<
@TheAbridgenator
She’s being more than a little idiotic right now. She has a blind spot here and probably is just acting on her gut rather than anything logical.
@Barhandar
I don’t want her to go THAT far with those crazy MiLs. Just mild inspiration to do this arc. Like, Velvet isn’t a complete shit person but she has some shit to work on.
Luna’s a tough girl. She withstood 1,000 years of isolation.

Yeah, I agree.
OMG TUNA? LOL!!!! Ive never heard that ship name before. I That brightened my day. Thank you for that and thank you for the, Tuna ship. Heh.

It is. Way better likelihood of resolution than the other daytime TV subreddits, too.
I need to go back and reread everything… I swore I left it as basically a cease-fire sort of truce with >>1299303

Typical in-law bitterness that comes from certain people who resent the folks their children married.
What would make this image is Luna muttering ‘Worth it’

Luna lets the water flow while she brushes!
That’s so unecological!
You have magic so you can turn it on when needed!

I learned something very interesting today.
One wonders if any of those stories ended with the in-laws being sealed alive and conscious in the moon for all eternity.
I mean, I know they’d likely WANT that to happen, but still. XD
That subreddit is a guilty pleasure. Better than a soap opera.
I’m sitting here telling myself ‘Luna hittin the jnmil high points’ and lo.

So is she supposed to be an idiot, or does she feel risking a god’s wrath is a worthy price to pay to keep her daughter single? XD

Well, I’ll be damned.
