I’d rather have dynamic camera movement and complex angles with obvious cgi then flat angles and static shots done entirely in 2d. As long as the cgi fits the style, is well designed, and doesn’t look bad, I don’t care if I can see it.

The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

@gato
Ah, gotcha! You were hoping for a better-animated 2D look, like the show.

I’m just musing:
I’d it helps, I remember when the then-supervising-director of MLPFIM, Jayson Thiessen, had popped on Ponychan back during S1 and answered some questions. IIRC, he said that if he were to do a movie, he’d do it using CGI, but having the characters look as 2D as possible.

I think the characters themselves do look as 2D as they could make them with the technology. The environment would be a challenge to animate in Flash, I think, as I believe they’d need to build a ridiculous amount of symbols for the sequence seen above, and probably wouldn’t be as smooth.

This is just me talking, but it would be wonderful to see a hand-drawn 2D feature, but I personally have given up hope long ago of that ever happening.

>Gets hyped after finding out a trailer was finally released.
>First shot is this.

I don’t remember my hype being so deflated at such a speed ever before. And I was hyped about MvC Infinite.
