Again, I disagree with this. Twilight is losing something here, whether you think so or not, and that’s an actual relationship. I have to agree with that other poster, its serious cradle robbing here, because theres a hugh gulf between, eh, roughly 20s and 1000+ and thats because time isn’t just a number, its an accumulation of experience, which is my point. There is a vast, vast, vast difference between the two and if Sil wants it to work, it will, but i apologize if i cant suspend my disbelief and accept that it magically isn’t an problem because hurrrrr love can overcome the totality of times effects on the psyche ¯*(ツ)*/¯.

And to a point you’re right, she would be losing a loved one, I just dont think this type of love is appropriate.

It’s an unfortunate position, but one i think is far more responsible, doubly so for whom i expect to have a lick of sense. Its rather selfish, honestly.

Its one more reason for Luna to not be in their relationship, honestly

We don’t know if Twilight has a longer lifespan like the sisters. If she has a normal lifespan it’s one more reason for Luna to not tarry in their relationship. Each year that she waits is a year less in which she could have cherished the company of Twilight.
 
And save for few and very flawed characters, there’s no option other than robbing the cradle for the sisters if you put that age difference has a part in that.

To be fair, Luna has several lifetimes up on her. I could see if twilight had 4 or 5 hundred years, but she’s still within her first pony lifespan. That’s a blink for someone like Luna

Luna have already tried fixing this herself but Velvet have shown to completely ignore reason on several occasions.

No… that’s not enough. You were really awful and now you’re “trying to fix it” only because Twilight emotionally forced you to.

I don’t know… Velvet isn’t wrong. Luna seriously robbed the cradle, and while she’s unlikely to ever find anyone who matches her age, snatching up Twilight while she’s still so young does have a dicey side to it. Being cowed or stressed by a disapproving mother-in-law would have helped offset that by showing Luna still at Twilight’s level with having her worry about another, elder (in general) pony’s approval. Some insecurity would have made her seem less like she had millenia on her bride in experience and made her seem like another young spouse dealing with new marriage issues.
 
Instead she sent her young bride to straighten out her mother, because she had no interest in being challenged by the mare. Just didn’t care for the way it makes the whole relationship feel.

I can’t wait to see how these two work it out.

Damnit silfoe! I didn’t want to start tearing up but you managed to succeed.

Thank goodness she listened to reason…
