Also the self dunking biscuits and other staff that wasn’t in the episode. It’s clear that IDW gets only the scripts or rough summaries of the episodes rather than entire episodes as they can’t recognise any visual or sound element from the episode. The singing tea wasn’t memorable to the writer because they haven’t see or hear it singing in the episode.

Also why Gummy is suddenly this energetic was a very bad contraption to make the story work. It’s also wierd that Discord is only now being shown the new animal shelter. Did Fluttershy Leans happened exactly on the same day as Discord preparing to host the party the next day? Or only now Fluttershy mentioned that it exist? Sometimes trying hard to reference the episodes only work against the logic and consistency of the timeline.

I’d question why Discord decided to return to Equestria with Fluttershy through a portal rather than just teleport them back, but I suppose that if he did that, we wouldn’t have a story.

Dunking something just means dipping it into a liquid (as in dunking bisuits into tea).
 
Self-dunking tea would mean that either the teabags are plopping themselves into boiling water, or the tea itself is solid and dipping itself into liquid biscuit.
 
Alternatively, the tea is ginseng throwing itself into a basketball hoop while singing Space Jam.
