Seriously? Boy, they must not love Seasons 1 & 2 as much as they claim then.
I understand some prefer the first two seasons, and that’s fine, but I feel the Season 1/2 purists kinda romanticize them too much, as like later seasons they had flaws too, and aren’t perfect. I actually remember the episodes “Feeling Pinkie-keen,” & “Mare Do-Well” getting some controversy back then.
which paint a picture of how much they know
We need a tag for obscure cute characters.

Don’t forget Lyra, DJ PON-3/Vinyl, Octavia, ect. They surprisingly used alot of fanon names. I kinda liked how they added on to some though like “Octavia Melody,” as it sounds cuter.
I must add, your avatar is cute, which pony is that?

that’s something I noticed most of the things that fandom says this show is stealing from them wasn’t that original in the first place.
also interesting enough I don’t recall hearing of people getting mad when they actually use something from The fandom.
the name derpy
Apparently, “Pinkie going nuts, and acting creepy” was enough to convince people that. Though, honestly that gag’s been pretty common in cartoons sense “Ren & Stimpy,” or even the days of Tex Avery, Looney Tunes, and such.

Oh God, I remember that. What’s especially odd is, Faust hasn’t worked on the show sense Season 2, so Faust had no involvement with Tree-huggers’ creation. So how could she suggest her to Faust, and therefore get her in the show?
Also, the IDW series had hippie ponies prior actually.
honestly I don’t think Cupcakes and Party of One have much in common another reason why the claim was stupid
remember when that girl on Twitter was claiming that treehugger was her idea because she described a generic hippie character to Lauren Faust.
what’s also funny about that before she was saying that’s the show was stealing her ideas she was saying she also wrote the episode
Not surprised… Remember back when fans accused them of ripping off Sargent Sprinkles’ notorious “Cupcakes” fanfic, not knowing that “Party of One” was written a full year before that fanfic was made? And this was back in the Season 1 days too.

Sometimes fans want too much. Ironically, some of the things fans prefered from fanon, were even more cliché then what actually happened.
At least a hundred times.
Are you suggesting we are our own worst enemy? That they give us what we want and then we complain about it? No, never. Not this fandom!
The best example of this is, ironically, Twilight’s ascension. There were fanfics and fanart everywhere about Twilight becoming an alicorn and either replacing or usurping Celestia. In fact, only the classic “Twilight screws up a spell” and “Rainbow Dash breaks her wings” plots were more prevalent in the early days.
All three have since happened in canon. And there were complaints about the canon execution of all three plots. Turns out breaking a wing is not a career-ending tragedy because ponies have medicine and hospitals and wings aren’t made of balsa wood. When Twilight screws up a spell, Celestia can fix it before it gets out of control. And when Twilight became a princess, it almost didn’t matter because nothing really changed (at first) aside from her sprouting wings. All three events were dealt with in traditional 22 minute episodes, and compared to fan interpretation they were a letdown.
Several
yeah idea and execution are two different things
