Kids 12 and under (and I think it’s 13 or under now) don’t know a world without YouTube.
“Please, just call me Filthy.”
You know, if the suits had any sense of humor, they would have Filthy Rich showing off the sales figures instead.
Not really. The story is right there in the source. shareholder.com investor day webcast. Keeping investors informed and looking to maximize their roi is a hard legal requirement for doing business in the U.S.
I know; every successful series has to have a corporate machine behind it keeping the gears turning or else it all goes to hell. You need the guys and gals in suits who don’t necessarily care about the characters or story, and just about how they can market their brand better, to grease the machine. I just don’t like seeing the sausage being made is all.
I made my peace with that sort of thing a long time ago.
If you’re going to be a fan of a toyline series you have to or you’ll go mad.

What gets me is when companies give themselves full credit for stuff like our fandom. I remember reading around the end of season 2 or so that in an investor and shareholder meeting the heads of Hasbro were clapping each other on the back for their “decisions” that led to the show’s popularity, without a single mention of say, Faust or anything else but themselves. So they were taking 100% credit for the show’s sudden immense popularity. That bugged me.
Same here bro. /) It’s business at the end like most everything is. Just don’t mind it, and heck at least this means more ponies in the future amirite? ;)
