Heck, do you see her family’s house in the first episode? Not only were they already wealthy looking but now Shining Armor is a prince and Twilight is a Princess. They are arguably the wealthiest family in Equestria right now.

I’d say Twilight went a bit overboard for a portrait of Spike but her family is loaded anyway so they can just throw cash around on whatever.
