A siren pack has just recently celebrated a successful brood that has not lost a single pup, and while the mothers and hatchlings bond through social methods from grooming to communal mothering. The father and other sirons of the pack maintain an iron blockade for which nothing can get through without being detected. On these celebratory days seldom held, these three wayward merponies are merely chased off by scare tactics of gruesome looking monsters.

Yes, because for sirens with immortality they age slower and youth is their most vulnerable state. Makes it hard for a pack to propagate thus more defensive of their young who curiously will wonder off. They will easily scare off harmless guests, violent only towards pirates I’d presume.
