How is that supposed to work?!
I was about to say the same thing lol.
Edited
I’m going to try this at work sometime, just tell random people to hold their breath, stop breathing, only breathe out but not in, etc.
and deny applejack the joys of motherhood?Your reaction is exactly like Granny’s reaction on this comic. But, you know, it doesn’t make any sense…
@redweasel
Oh, I get it. Thanks!
Edited because: Answering other comment.
no, it’s an easy mistake though. expire means to die, not to breathe out. it originated from the latin word “expirare” which means to breathe out. then, retarded english speakers screwed up their own language again. and now it only means the last time you breathe out.
it’s kind of like how the word “inflammable” means flammable.
Well, technically it’s correct, but in an archaic definition of the words.
In typical usage, inspire means to give an idea to (“Rarity was inspired to make a gem-encrusted dress right away”), and expire means to die (“Applejack’s parents expired before the show began”).
The more common words for breathing in and out are inhale and exhale. (hence my first post)
Lol! And isn’t that right? I’m confused.
people who breathe in, inspire. people who do not breathe in, expire.
Too much emphasis on the expire and not enough on the inspire, I guess.
Really? I thought she would speak more like Rarity here, with some fancy words.

I haven’t added these tags, must’ve been because of the banner in the title.
I’m sorry, but many things are left for interpretation in this comic. It clearly doesn’t mean to make sense just solely by itself.

The most is the background on top. But even then I didn’t even notice until I looked closer.
I concur!!
Although really, Pear shouldn’t have taken the advice to expire so seriously, either.
