Well, this was a lie. At least as far as Nachos are concerned. They were made for American tourists, yes, but they are very much a Mexican dish.
It certainly looks like it’s tasty, if weird, but it does look delicious in an objective sense.
They’d approve.

Nachos are a variant of chilaquiles/totopos that were created in a MExican restaurant to cater to American tourists.
The owner of the restaurant served fried tortilla chips with sliced chile peppers, raosted meat and covered it on sheese and called it Nacho’s Special
