Because queen novo was trying to protect her country as well, the pearl was keeping them safe and she doesn’t wanna give it to outsiders she doesn’t know.

Yeah. Well, the only thing she did wrong was lying to her friends about using the pearl to save Equestria which is something to transform ponies and hippogriffs into sea ponies and not for attacking enemies like the Storm King. Well, Twilight thinks the pearl could be the only thing to save Equestria. But it wasn’t. She lied. She lied to her the Mane Five and Spike, Queen Novo, and Princess Skystar because she should have listen to Queen Novo about the pearl. I don’t know why the Queen really hates someone trying to borrow, or steal, or take, or use the pearl.

Yes she was trying to save her country, Equestria from the Storm King since the he successfully taken over Equestria because he successfully fully ruled and conquered the entire kingdom of Equestria, overthrown all four princesses (including Twilight who runs away from her homeland with the rest of the Mane Six) along with Shining Armor and Flurry Heart, assume the throne in Canterlot and become the new ruler of Equestria, slaughtering dozens of cities, towns, and habitats, made rivers, lakes, and streams dry, leaves, plants, and trees fallen and/or died, desert grounds broken, and turn all the inhabitants into his slaves and prisoners. And worst of all, the Storm along put the lives of all in Equestria in great big danger. Even the rest of the Mane Six were trying to save Equestria as well because they seek help from nee friends beyond Equestria. But they failed between the second and third act of the film. But they didn’t give up and they resume their chances of liberating Equestria from the Storm King and his Storm Army.
