Shining armours shield spell is releted to his shield cutie mark, and Twilights magical ability means she can copy any spell she sees (Raritys gemfinding spell for example)
 
Now I don’t think that the shield around the Chrystal empire was the same sort of shield made by Cadance.  
I’m of the theory that she spread love and kindness with her special tallent, (a variant of her love spell) and the Chrystals of the empire absorbed that and the Chrystals in turn formed the shield.

Depends on the context, “oh come on” is one way it’s use but in this way it’s more like “oh really, how about this” kind of way, it can also be use as a response to something really stupid being said.

Technically Princess Cadance’s wasn’t a physical shield like his is, it’s a shield that provides happy thoughts and love to whoever’s inside.  
Also, pretty sure Cel and Luna could pull off an Equestrian sized one if they gave two shits.

And then they make one as big as equestria.
