I hope in the actual series Sunset at one point does have an inner conflict with her demonic and angelic self. That would be a funny little quirk for her to have I feel.

I get the joke, but that could actually epically backfire on Discord - Midnight Sparkle was literally tearing reality apart with her portal beams.  
This would acfually make her feat-wise the single most powerfull villain as of now - especially that Daydream Shimmer - powered up by the same device and combined energies of the mane 5 ad herself - was still weaker than Midnight, who had to be defeated in the end by Talking the Monster to Death by Spike and Sunset (and kinda Sunset a second time, in Legend of Everfree).
 
I just don’t think Discord could control Midnight Sparkle, due to her share power…and with Sunset Satan and Gaea for backup - well maybe at least Sunset Satan, as she they would probably be friends, paralell to their normal selves…

One of my dumb episode ideas involves Discord Man pulling out Sunset Satan, Midnight Sparkle, Gaea Everfree, and the Dazzlings’ Stands from their minds into physical forms to mess with Canterlot, presumably for no reason as he is Discord. X3
