Starlight being a bad or good character is a matter of opinion. Starlight receiving development in the show is a fact.
We’re pointing out actual development in the show by bringing forth factual evidence. You on the other hand are just hanging on to her misdeeds as if that’s all there is to her.
@darknessRising24
Oh, and clearly your say in the matter is the end all-be all, am I right? What you just said is merely your opinions on the matter, not facts. That’s why I say this matter is still up for debate.
As to whether or not the show actually needed her? Sure. But there’s no question that the Starlight in “Shadow Play” is not the same Starlight at the end of “The Cutie Re-mark”.
@darknessRising24
Agreed.
Not really, she’s long since stopped being a black spot and settled into being a main character. Episodes like All Bottled Up, Rock Solid Friendship, Fame and Misfortune, Uncommon Bond, Shadow Play, || as well as one of the leaked episodes|| have given her more development and dialed back her more negative traits.
That’s up for debate.
Starlight has admittedly been a negative for the show before, but I wouldn’t say she’s a black spot. She’s also had plenty of positive moments in FiM.
Agreed. She’s a black spot on the show, but she’s merely a symptom of much bigger problems with the show.
We’ll just have to agree to disagree (I don’t think Starlight ruined the series as a whole though, I had other beefs).
Edited
It doesn’t need to be “saved” or “made better”, it already good. The most recent season finale and movie proved that.
While Sunset’s appearance would be a nice change of pace and open the door for a more interesting episodes, pretending that she’s the only thing that could “save” the series is nothing short of disrespectful to the series as a whole, if not more disrespectful than claiming that Starlight Glimmer somehow “ruined” the series.
Hoping maybe she’ll save it or make it better.
@Seiya-Meteorite
Are you talking about another brief visit as part of an EqG special, a la “Mirror Magic”, or do you actually want her to appear in FiM? And if the latter, why do you want her to appear in something you think has degenerated to the point of mediocrity or worse?
…
Just saying, that kind of attitude doesn’t exactly help your case.
Your previous actions do nothing to convince me of that. But that is all I will say. I’m done talking to you.
@PonyPon
I’m not out to make anyone else look intellectually inferior, I merely point out and defend facts. And I like others I don’t resort to name-calling when I can’t back up my claims.
The blueballs must be horrible if he does.
Edited
Do you get off on trying to make everyone who disagrees with you look like a retard?
The fact that you need to ask makes me question if you ever respected the show to begin with.
@Seiya-Meteorite
And that’s the problem, acting like every new that came after Glimmer’s reformation was complete garbage when that’s far from the truth. If you removed your surgically-implanted hate-goggles you would see that
And while the movie wasn’t perfect, it was still enjoyable from beginning to end.
@DiscipleOfAndrewRyan
You don’t get to play the “my opinion” card when you basically phrase it as though you’re speaking for the entire fandom.
I don’t think season 3, EQG (I’m not really big on that franchise anyways) were the lowest points of G4.
Those to me were Cutie Re-Mark, To Where and Back Again, most of Season 6, and the movie.
That’s your opinion, then. I’ll respect that.
the show is nowhere where it once was, but that’s not to say that the first two seasons didn’t have any bad moments either. and let us remember the lowest points of Generation 4: Season 3 (especially “Magical Mystery Cure,” a confusing, incomprehensible snoozefest), Equestria Girls (Sunset Shimmer left a bad first impression on us all, leaving most of us angry and stupefied – and don’t forget the insult that was all the shameless fan pandering), Rainbow Rocks (Shimmer’s second impression is worse here than the first, however, almost the entire fandom waifus her! – blame DHX for her lack of consistent character >:/), Discord’s reformation and redemption (he was funnier as a bad guy), and “The Cutie Remark, Part 2” (Glimmer’s reformation was decent, but her initial redemption was mild letdown and her backstory could’ve been fleshed out a bit more). but the show still had some great moments, as “Magic Duel” and Legend of Everfree.
please don’t flame me… it’s just my opinion. @~@
