Nothing is for free, and sometimes people suffer to make things happen. Most soy plantations in third world countries abuse their employees to the point of violating human rights. We know there are things that go wrong in the world, but pessimism won’t help much.
 
Some people do love their work, and they display it. If the people working on the show do not love it beyond the moneymaking part, then something is going wrong. I believe there are at least some staff members who do love the show, but probably are not as loud on the public scene.
 
The fact that most things are done out of necessity or instinct does not mean they can’t be enjoyed or done with a positive outlook.
 
The last parts regarding slave labor are the hardest ones to be honest. I often stop and think about it. Something must be done about it for the sake of everyone, even for the sake of free market.

Clearly no one working on the show has any sense of pride in it beyond the money it makes back, and put no effort or thought into the messages and emotions they hope to instill. Every writer and artist and animator and VA wakes up only for their next paycheque and creates everything based on a dry spreadsheet handed down by CxOs and shareholders.
 
Reminder that anyone you loved only returned your affections to get something in return. Your mother only hugged you to get a temporary release of dopamine and settle the part of her psyche that insisted it was socially required to show affection to her child. You were only conceived because biology instinctively pushes for reproduction as way of self-survival. Your favourite teacher has already forgotten your name and face and is grinding through another 90 forgettable faces to push into the system. Your favourite childhood toy was made by a slave who likely now has cancer from handling toxic plastics and paints. The tablet you’re writing on was assembled by other slaves who have to be physically stopped from killing themselves and made from materials mined in countries where retail the cost of your tabled would have fed the slaves that mined them for over a year.

But all I wanted to know was, what do you consider to be proper ships between these characters, at least according to your definition of ship? For example, what is a “proper” Big Macintosh Ship? That’s what I was trying to ask you throughout this thread.

Pairings = canon (like the Cakes, Shining and Cadance or Cranky and Matilda)  
Shippings = plausible, non-canon (anything except pairings and crackships, ie. twidash in this chart)  
Crackships = silly, impossible non-canon ships (like, seriously where the cluck do you get Cadance and Tirek? You’re high!)
 
And I never said that these are inappropriate. I just say over and over again that this is full of crack and that’s all!
 
I wonder why it never occurs to authors of such charts that some characters might not actually have children, be it because of their own choice or incompatibility. It’s always “EVERYONW MUST HAVE KIDS” with these people…

Hmm.OK. My own view on crack pairings is “anything involving a non-sentient or inanimate object, as well as anything involving the pairing of an adult with a child”. So to me, these aren’t “crack shippings” so much as “improbable or exotic” ships, so long as they’re between two consenting adults.

I will not waste my time fighting over petty matters, but as someone who has lost relatives to cancer, I think you get upset over very petty matters. I advise taking a break from the internet, drink some tea, hang with family and friends, have a nice dinner, and enjoy a good film or show.

Crack shipping usually refers to characters that never interact with each other. So friends or enemies for example wouldn’t be crack shipping because they already have some kind of relationship.
 
It’s a bit unusual in this series though since characters that never interact with each other were often some of the favorite pairings (and then eventually they did interact in the show because of said popularity).

I measure the responses I give based on what I respond to, not who; if you’re seeing that I’m “personally” targeting you, it’s not you, it’s what you say. What you take out of that is up to you.
 
And yes, equating odd My Little Pony ships to “cancer” (ie. a variety of incredibly devastating, painful, horrific, crippling, stigmatizing lethal diseases) is extremely deplorable behaviour. “Hey, remember how your aunt slowly died from her liver eating itself out and then poisoning the rest of her body over two years while she tried to slow down her death by killing herself just a bit less, but eventually died anyway between episodes of clarity and delirium? Well shipping Princess Cadance with Tirek is just as bad!”
