I only like the current mane.
I just think that often they don’t get the full potential out of the things they have before they change them.
Unicorn Twilight could have stayed longer and the alicornification could have been executed better or been more of a big deal and game changer when they did it.
They barely did anything with the old changelings at all.
Discord was a really interesting and fun villian.
Glimmer was interesting as an equality based villian but they ended up not doing all that much with the concept and what they did at the end was slightly lackluster.

I’m a person who enjoys all change, be it good or bad. Everywhere I encounter someone complaining about how “It was better before” I feel offended, and actively defend the new things. While I will agree that some things were better before, those are only minor complaints, the bad is quickly forgotten in the joy of everything new and exciting that I experience in the show. I adore the new changelings, I love the addition of Starlight as the replacement for Twilight in the Mane 6, and my general preference of worst-to-best seasons is 1,2,3,4,5,6,7… so that’s my ideas on the new mane style…
Maybe I’m just being hard-headed about it, though.
When TV characters rarely change appearance, it’s easy to take their first look for granite.
Yeah I liked the old mane too.
It’s weird, her older design is really solid!

I still think it was really gneiss.
Mane was changed for plushies apparently.
Plushies with her new mane came first before the show.
