I’ve always likened it living in one of Final Fantasy’s worlds. How low-level noncombatant npc’s just go out and do things in random encounter areas, I don’t know. But ponies seem to manage in exactly the same way.
@JP
Shining Armor kept his up for weeks. Now, granted, it’s his talent, which is why he could do a city sized bubble, but Twi has the alicorn magic reserves that allow Luna and Celestia to raise and lower the mooon on a daily basis without burning out their magic in a year.
I’d say she could keep up a Golden Oaks sized dome pretty much indefinitely.

Yeah, but as “Putting Your Hoof Down” shows not all ponies are nice, polite, or friendly either. Some can be jerks, or crooks too.

That’s partly why I always find it odd when some bronies romanticize Equestria as some kinda wonderful heavenly utopia much better, and peaceful then our world.
Considering MLP takes place in a bloody death world I can’t exactly fault Twilight. Everywhere you turn outside of civilization is some predator bigger than you waiting it seems.
I think it’s nice Applejack is getting some time in the series and nice to see Twilight possibly going to spend time with them more. Hope it works out.
Also we see Twilight doesn’t like being outside of her comfort zone, which we’ve seen all along in this series. Just more apparent here.
That plus a spark from the zapper will not go well.

So you’re fine with star spiders cause they don’t fly? And with flash bees and twittermites cause they’re not spiders?
There’s a difference between everyday spiders and aggressive, FLYING, spiders that travel in swarms.
Oh well in that case don’t look in the corners… or behind the bookshelves… or in the attic.

As long as you avoid leaving the town, you’re usually fine.

Oh yeah, that’d be kind of neat. But yeah, buck ever going camping. Those things are like from my nightmares…
But… but its a cartoon world! With pretty ponies! Don’t you want to live there?
Twilight’s good at creating shields.
The question is, how long can she keep that shield up…
Oh dear. This image isn’t very funny anymore.
That’s what the bug zapper is for!
