A lot of large animals people think of as strictly herbivorous (cattle, deer, horses, etc.) will occasionally gobble up unsuspecting little critters (often birds and mice) to get some necessary nutrients that a completely meatless diet can’t provide.
So yeah, given the opportunity, a horse probably would eat a hamster.
