Maybe it’s the Ranger breakup after the Stable 2 Massacre? Super strength makes sense for an earth pony. Maybe she’s too sheltered, though in the end she’d either adjust the bare minimum or break down entirely.
 
So the whole thing would just be a dream? Maybe in the end things would repeat themselves… Now the N-Team is even more confused…
 
Also, that just reminded me the Steel Rangers were infighting in Chapter 14, so PE must be after the Stable 2 Massacre in the original, giving it a minimum place in the timeline. IIRC Heroes mentions the “death of the Ghost of 52” at some point (I’m only up to Chapter 2) and the Prologue ends with Homage spreading the misinformation about the Arbu Massacre so we know where Heroes begins, relatively speaking. If I could be bothered to read on, I’d probably figure out where they take place relative to the original. That would also help my own sidefic, as it references the end of Pink Eyes in Chapter 5 (of about somewhere between 30 and 50, I haven’t decided yet). Now we just need to figure out where PH and MN7 go…

a lot of it’s just little thematic oddities that don’t make sense, like why would the steel rangers ever want to destroy old-world technology for being evil? I dunno if I’d make her super strong, and would probably put more emphasis on her pink cloud. I’d also probably make her more scared and confused, like I’d imagine an actual lost child would be.
 
but mostly what I would change is in the end, after the happy afterlife dream, puppysmiles would wake up hale and whole, only to discover that everypony else didn’t.

I don’t remember if there was an in-universe explanation for why the stasis was different between the two, and it definitely didn’t seem like Psychoshy had 200 years of memories stuck in waiting. Maybe the medical clinic foals had family that wanted to be able to interact with them or something? Then when the bombs fell, there was too much chaos to get them into full stasis.

Unfortunately, the foals here couldn’t be healed. Which brings us back to square one. And begs the question: If they were in stasis, why could they still think and feel normally?

That sounds about right. I think she was Fluttershy’s daughter by Golden Blood, but was born too frail to survive on her own. So she was stuck in stasis until Sanguine eventually was able to heal her.

Doesn’t Psychoshy relate somehow? I know nothing about Psychoshy except she’s Fluttershy’s daughter and because the Ministry Mares were technically forbidden from having foals she was sent to… I think a lab of some kind?
 
Also, this has become quite the thread. I wonder if this might become an eternal thread… Would need more people, though…

I don’t think Sanguine was much of a fighter, he was more someone who had lots of leverage over other impressive fighters (PsychoShy, the manticore lady, and that other one that could magically blow herself up) so he could get them to do his dirty work. On his own, he was most useful because he had lots of pre-war knowledge of all of the old secret projects. So he knew how to manipulate/get around the old facilities.
 
Though, I don’t think the robots were on his side. I think they were from Hoofington, and were actively trying to kill him so they could take over the science facilities he was occupying. Although, I never finished the story (and it’s been a while since I read it), so I might be wrong about some things.
 
But, I’d agree, he was built to seem like a pretty huge player in the fate of the region early on.

I dunno, he just like slaughters everything effortlessly and has this impenetrable fortress protected by a gauntlet of miles and miles of evil and/or insane ponies/robots/experiments which are all not a problem for him at all somehow. in short: hoofington sucks. honestly I’m not sure what sanguine is capable of.

What exactly does Sanguine do that makes him so OP? And as for character personalities, I know Scotch Tape is apparently a total pervert or something like that, but that’s just what I’ve read off the wiki…

honestly, I haven’t the slightest idea how to incorporate stable 99 into a fallout story. sanguine’s so OP, he’d outclass any other villain, and blackjack really doesn’t have a lot to her character besides “suffery shootey pony.” plus the story’s unpleasant to read, and so huge that it’s not worth reading for what you get out of it.

it’s kind of like game of thrones. you think it’s pornography, until you realize that the sex is only in there to make sex look bad. from what I can see, there’s encyclopedias of angst and suffering in project horizons about the consequences of sex/rape, and only a tiny amount of actual sex.

Peter Sotos is anti-porn. The apotheosis of anti-porn, even.  
Project Horizons, on the other hand, is the very definition of gratuitous. It reads like fanfiction written by a teenage boy who does not quite understand why things like lesbians and rape turn him on. Rape being used ad nauseam as a tool for character development too, is nothing short of an hallmark of badly written adolescent fiction. It certainly has nothing to do with being sex-positive or not.

Not with that rape scene and the way Stable 99 sees sex, though the latter bleeds into Scotch Tape’s N-Team personality. On that note, N-Team Puppysmiles does that thing where she gets words wrong, like “accompanists” instead of “accomplices” (Like that Timon & Pumbaa episode) or “preemptive” instead of “precocious”. She also asks stuff like “What’s evolution?” and “What are teats?” and answers Slug’s “pondering what I’m pondering” question with something about ships carrying cargo and cars carrying shipments. Stuff like that.

that’s kinda supposed to be revealed in the story… things just went a little differently than the ending of those stories, and as littlepip learns who these ponies are, so must the reader learn what happened instead.

I was hoping for something slightly more detailed. Mostly how Pink Eyes and The Ditzy Doo Chronicles tie into it…
