I know what you mean. I’ve always low-key hated the show’s name. If I had named it I would have called it Equestrian Tales or something along those lines. But the show was never limited to just what the name implied or else we wouldn’t be here right now.

I mean a lot of anime and high school settings are about friendship. It’s not exclusive to MLP at all. And it has so much of the other things that appear in these. When I watch Equestria Girls I really feel like I am watching a different show and when ponies appear in EQG it feels like a cross-over between shows for me. If they feel the same to you because friendship then that’s fine by me, too.

Forgotten Friendship, also they pony up and Sunset is/was a pony.
Those “pony up things” are hardly pony and Sunset WAS a pony. Until the plot demands she comes back to Equestria. But only happens in those films and not the shorts.
It was never really my little pony to begin with. It only really used a few scenes with ponies and the rest was totally different from anything MLP related we had seen so far.
Hasbro used MLP success to basically advertise a different kind of show to make different toys from.
Not saying it’s bad because of this or anything. It’s actually more like an anime/Monster High/High School Musical etc..

Sometimes for me, it’s more to MLP than just the name.

>Implying friendship isn’t what MLP is about and it’s all about the name.
